We are excited to announce our latest scholarship winners for Spring 2015-
Sana Noorani, Jonathan Balderas and Dominique Vyborny.
The Texas BBA Parents Council Scholarship is our newest Scholarship opportunity solely for McCombs undergraduate students studying abroad on exchange programs. Generously sponsored by the Texas BBA Parents Council, the scholarship is valued at $2,000 and is awarded to students going to various locations around the globe. Each applicant was chosen based on summaries written in response to questions such as ‘In what ways will you be a good ambassador before, during, and after your study abroad experience?’ We are tremendously excited to introduce this scholarship into our bi-yearly application process and are grateful to the Parents Council for making long term study abroad a reality for more McCombs students. The Council serves as a platform for parents of enrolled business students to be involved with McCombs and to support BBA Program Office programs and initiatives.
Spring ’15 recipients shared how this scholarship opened the possibilities for their time abroad:
“I feel privileged to have been one of the three recipients for this scholarship. Since going abroad is about diversifying educational experiences, I want to make the most out of my study abroad trip. I plan to use this money to aid me in my travels to historical landmarks in Europe, which will enable me to finally see places I have only dreamed of.” Said Sana Noorani studying at Hautes Etudes Commerciales in France.
” The BBA Parent Council Scholarship decreased the financial burden of the expenses required to study abroad. I will now be able to purchase my plane ticket and reserve an apartment in Bangkok before classes begin.” Shared Jonathan Balderas going to Thammasat University in Bangkok, Thailand.
Dominique Vyborny going to The University of Economics in Prague, Czech Repulbic said “This scholarship changed the way I was approaching my study abroad semester in a very profound way! Without this scholarship, I was looking at my study abroad plans with some anxiety, rather than anticipation, because of the added cost of a plane ticket in addition to my program fees. Because of the Texas Parents Council Scholarship, I can let go of that stress and simply plan an exciting and enriching experience, and I am so grateful for this opportunity!”
