Taiwan Weekend

With Hong Kong being the center of Southeast Asia, traveling is both more efficient and affordable. A few other exchange students and I decided to go to Taiwan for a weekend. With Taiwan being home to one of the several active natural hot springs in Asia, we visited a natural sulfur hot spring in Taipei. The hot springs are around 100C (212F) degrees and stay like that year long. The steam in the background is from the evaporation effect of the springs.

We also went bicycling in Tai Chung, there’s a 12 km bike trail that runs across the side of a mountain that allows you to see many different parts of Tai Chung. This is also during the lantern festival (first full moon after the lunar calendar) so you see many local vendors on the side of streets selling anything from street food to toys & electronics and much more. -Chris Wang
